OMG it is so frustrating finding some good video editing software for my travel videos / photos. I download trial versions to see if I like them and they are so buggy.

I have AVCHD files from my camcorder, as well as MP3 H.264 from my GoPro (is that the same thing as AVCHD?), and I also record separate audio MP3 files with my Edirol audio recorder. I want to be able to put these all together and make little movies but it is so complicated and nothing works properly.

I want something that isn't…

I have been booking tours with a travel company in Hanoi but today when going to their website up comes "Server Error in '/' Application. The file '/default.aspx' has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested" followed by Description: Exception details etc and a lot of code.

Why is that happening?
Thanks.

Hi there,
My partner and I are planning for long term travel as of next year, and while we are on the road I want to be able to maintain a blog and keep writing and also upload photos I've taken etc. I have an DSLR and have heavily researched transporting that and keeping that safe and know what lenses I am taking etc. However, I have begun doing research into what sort of laptop or even device I should be looking at buying that will be practical to take in order to access the internet and write…

I have been using iTunes for several years to manage my extensive and growing music collection. However, I have been getting more and more annoyed with the massive folder system it imposes on its users, and even more so with the huge memory usage. The first I can work around, but there is nothing I can do about the second.

I am looking for something that will not take up so much memory, that will enable me to organise the folders and files the way I want, but that will still allow me to find…

I've just (almost) made up my mind of getting my first DSLR. It will most likely be a Canon 600D/Rebel T3i. (The Canon/Nikon choice was settled by the apparent fact that Nikons are much more menu-driven, which I hate; I like buttons).

My current "best" camera is a Fujifilm FinePix HS10 fixed lens. Here's what I like about it:

1) Very good continuous shot capability, 10 fps. I like shooting wildlife.
2) The very large zoom, 30x, 24-720mm 135 equiv.

Here's what I'm annoyed about:

1) Poor…

hello everybody,

I was wondering what people have to say about the Kindle on the road?
and is it now possible to get all lonelyplanet guide books on such e-books tablets.

what is the best availlable tablet or e-books reader you've experienced on the road?

witch one can download anything from anywhere? (as far as I know the kindle is only working with the amazon compagny)

witch one is the handiest to dowload and read confortably the lonely planet guide books?

thanks all

I have a Nikon Coolpix L10 that I have owned for about 3 years. I have only recently started having excessive battery consumption issues. I will put in new batteries, use the camera a few minutes, turn it off, and then come back one or two days later to use the camera only to not have it turn back on. I have a recently purchased pack of Duracell batteries (8 pack) that I have completely burned through in less than a month when I have barely used the camera for more than 5 minutes at a time and…

The advice I get from the good folks of TT is always so great that I thought I'd give a shot to asking a kinda stupid question about cameras.

I'm looking at getting a new camera for my upcoming trip to Asia through my airmiles program, so I am limited in choice. I am looking for a waterproof camera that takes nice pics that I can take snorkeling and still get some really nice (for a point n shoot) land pics (heading to the Hymalayas).
My options:

1) Olympus® TG-310 14.0MP Digital Camera -

I have a new Android phone and, if I purchase an app, I can use my US VOIP plan in Laos, provided that I have a good wifi connection. My phone is also 4G, but I don't think I can use 3G or 4G since it's a CDMA only phone and Laos is a GSM country. Am I correct, or will 3G/4G work with either CDMA or GSM?
