Hey everyone

Im just wanting some advice from anyone that has used a solar charger for either their iphone or camera batteries. What brand you used and if you were happy with it etc.
Ill be going on a long walking trip and will be out away from a wall charger for long periods of time so i need to find a way of charging my camera batteries and my ipod

Thanks for any help

Have a look at the Brunton foldable solar panels (in the bottom of link). It's not cheap but this gear delivers decent power. It's all about solar panel surface - specially is you spend your day walking and need to recharge with afternoon sun.

Good luck!

Will you be walking 24 hours a day? Won't you be staying in hotels or hostels with electricity every now and then? Use that time to charge up your batteries. Maybe consider spare batteries. You don't necessarily have to keep your devices turned on every hour of the day. In the "olden days" getting a letter once a week was sufficient. Things just sort of took care of themselves back then or were worked out without lots of instant communication.

Here is another one I came across.

Good luck anyway.

I´ve been using this for many years now - hardly last generation , but works for me. Small enough to throw in a messenger bag without a second thought.Long lunches is a good way to avoid the mid-day heat , and a good opportunity to recharge the camera etc. as well.

I hook up the panel to a universal charger , that runs both on the wall and on 12 V (i.e. from the panel ) . Long rant on the subject here. here

Hey Vistet, can you talk more about the solar charger? Did it work well? How long would it take to charge say a 4000mah battery?
