I can't be seen on skype connection. The window where I should be in doesn't open - the little circle in the window keeps going round, but it isn't opening. Then another frame comes up with the text "Internet explorer isn't working" (that's in translation from my language).
I've checked all kinds of settings, removed and downloaded skype three times, without any change.
I've also tried to remove IE to download it again, but I can't do it as I'm getting that frame saying "internet explorer isn't working" and also that I've got a newer version of IE installed. But, I can't even find IE in "remove software".
Normally, I use mozilla browser and never use IE.
It's all a mystery. The funny thing though is that I can send a video message on skype and that works (both audio and video) which shows that webcam does work. Yet, it won't work in direct live conversation.
Looking for advice from you computer wizards.

Look at the Windows Events log (System, Application, Security) to see specific error messages if any and Google that for more info. With XP OS you cannot completely remove IE - not the original version that came with the OS because some other OS stuff depend on it, or its all interconnected and that component can't be removed... What OS are you using? Good luck

Skype has a few answers

You might look at the add-ons to IE as you might have a Skype addon. If so, disable or delete it.

Thanks everyone.
The problem drove me crazy as I couldn't find out what it was. Eventually installing previous version of skype resolved it.

#2 Those people are mad. Telia is what used to be state monopoly in Sweden. After many years they still find it difficult sometimes to adapt to free market rules.

villa,
Thanks. That didn't work. It's an old problem though, but I had it again when I downloaded latest updates. Again, had to resort to an older version of skype. There's even a special link on skype website for that.
It wasn't a problem with the camera, that worked fine. It was the transmission of video from my end that didn't work during video conversation. But, strangely it worked with video messaging. Very odd.
