Prepaid SIM card for calls within EuropeInterest forums / Travel Tech
Im going to spend the next 2 months in Germany with short visits to Denmark, UK and the Netherlands. How does it work? Where can I get one? What is the price range? I am so clueless about this stuff, any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Make sure your phone is unlocked and can accept foreign SIMs. Germany uses the 900mhz and 1800mhz GSM frequencies like most of the world (excluding the Americas). It also has 3g service at 2100mhz. Check out this forum for more information on their offerings: http://www.prepaidgsm.net/forum/germany/ and this break down on German deals: http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/germany.html Fonic appears to be ver popular. | 1
Hi.... Please also note, some simcards only work in the country of purchase. | 2
I suggest to get yourself a simcard in your home country. Choose an operator This avoid the hassle of getting yourself connected in each of the countries In case your phone gets lost with the simcard, ask for an extra "empty" simcard. Alternatively, buy a German prepaid simcard from O2 or T-mobile Here 2 examples of getting a prepaid simcard in Germany; (its for 3G internet, but the process is the same) O2 prepaid simcard in Germany Cheers! | 3

I don't know which Nokia I have, they are all the same to me =) Getting a Sim card in my home country is not an option as it will be super expensive to make local phone calls within Europe (5 euros/min from what they have told me). I think ill probably just buy a German Sim card and hope the roaming rates aren't expensive. thank you | 5
