I asked a similar question below but was wondering if anyone knows whether you can use an N73 or similar phone on a pay as you go tariff in england? Would you be able to use all of the features on the phone like email etc?

You definitely could use it for calls - however if you haven't bought it already it will cost an absolute fortune to buy on "pay-as-you-go".

Depending on your network etc you might be able to use the other features too but it will cost you a lot each time & to be honest if those features are important to use regularly you might be better off getting a proper contract…

Yes, you just need to configure the GPRS and set it up to connect to your own e-mail account. Nokia has a phone configurer here.

You can connect to Gmail and Yahoo with the same application that sends text messages (set up POP3) or use their respective wap pages. Not sure about Hotmail.

PAYG GPRS won't bankrupt you. A couple of years back it was cheap on Orange and Virgin so it's probably cheaper now.

Check the cellular provide you want to go with.
Chance is its likely you can access email usage under pay as you go.

Of course for a pay as you go per KB or MB used it will be proportionally more $$ than contract.
For the phone cost, depends on the area, some places have discounted phone prices if you sign for a contract 2 or 3yr etc. Some countries and maybe over there, not sure, may have discounted phones only if you sign a contract that is a business contract with peak calling free minutes included and not off peak (personal) accounts which give you free offpeak minutes per month etc....

Check your network provider out ..
