I want to have internet access where ever there is GSM or WiFi. I don't want to cart a laptop/notebook around.
Just something the size of a PDA or phone.
Generally I'd like to access email but I'd also like to access information about places to see and things to do at whatever location I might find myself. Once I've found the information I want to save it for later access in case I travel out of GSM/WiFI range.
It would also be cool to have a GPS built in so I can find things (and myself ) quicker.
Service access costs are not a problem for me.
Does anyone have any experiences with this sort of thing that might help me?

Oh! I forgot - I also want to be able to update my blog (photos included) to keep in touch with home about my travels.
If a camera was built into my phone (or whatever) then that would be convenient but I guess some sort of interface to a seperate camera will do.
Apart from the GPS, there is an amazing new gadget out that would meet your needs. Unfortunately those of us who live outside the US can not get it until next year.

How could I not know about? :)
Trouble is, as he says, it's not much use to anyone outside US.

Nokia N95 - has GSM and GPS has video chat calling cellphone. Can be paired to laptop or might be able to PDA as well but not sure. But by itself you can surf the web and email right on the phone. GSM so can take diff simcards as you travel or just roam if you are not using much or want the convenience.

Rumor has it that T Mobile is supposed to be announcing soon that they will be releasing the iPhone in Europe in November. Don't know if it's true or not, but that's the latest rumor. (supposedly the announcement will come on Monday. I suppose that the good thing is that when the iphone does make it's way to your area of the world, you'll know (at least here in the US, Apple/AT&T have been spending an obscene amount on advertising.)
