Have stayed in few places that have wifi and very few power outlets, but mostly I think you will be OK, as long as you have the correct adapter..

I'd recommend picking up a short extension cord while you're away, that's what I did when I was over there and I had little problem being hooked up to the mains. You could also get a cheap double adapter so that you're not hogging the powerpoint!

Look for a cheap battery on eBay.

Yes to an extension cord but make it long. Wifi is often very local and you could be a foot away from a signal and so get nothing.

If you're going through Bangkok consider looking for a battery there. It'll probably be made in China and not cost as much as the genuine manufacturer's battery, and will probably be of lesser quality.

To be honest from my experience of buying electrical gear in SE Asia I'd go with Cyberia's suggestion over bendejo's if yer going to get a battery. It'll no doubt be a similar unit to what you'd pick up in BKK but would be cheaper and you'll have time to have a quick play before you go and if it packs up in a week or 2 you'll have the option to try and return it. Personally I've bought 2 used genuine Acer batteries for my Acer One netbook from ebay and they've been spot-on, but I did make sure to ask about the condition and how much charge they held.
