Insurance for Ipod and camera

Does anyone know where i can get an insurance for my ipod and camera while traveling on a rtw??(is this possible at all??)

Why on earth are you looking for separate insurance? They are covered by your normal travel insurance - which you of course have because only an idiot would travel without...

Ria: Actually they might not be, many travel policies have upper limits on the value of items to be insured - often cameras exceed that limit.

This query has been asked many times over the past few years.

As near as I could find, you can get separate insurance policies however, the cost of the insurance is phenomenaly expensive and, it doesn't generally cover the replacement cost of the a camera. There are very low upper limits on claims.

For example, if you have a DSLR lenses accessories worth ~US$4,000, the cost of the insurance will cost you ~U$500 and it will only cover you for ~$1,000 replacement value.

Therefore, you're still way out of pocket (if you need to claim).

It's better to minimise the likelihood of theft rather than trying to make a claim.

You may want to investigate bags or pacsafe options that will secure your valuables.

I have annual worldwide camera insurance with Photoguard. I have approx £2000 value insured for around £100 including accidental damage. It's not cheap but I don't think it's too bad either considering the cover I get.

For me it's a small price to pay for the confidence to get my camera out on those occasions when I normally wouldn't - with no insurance it would spend more time in my bag or locked in my room and I'd take far less pics.

They also insure laptops and other electronic gadgets and have a fairly good reputation from what I gather.
