When I do a filter of a spreadsheet with several hundred lines or more, why does it filter down so far then the rest of the spreadsheet is unfiltered?

When you applied the filter, did you select the entire column or just a portion of it?

Well both. If I don't select the whole column the I get a partial filter. If I select the whole spreadsheet I don't get the whole filter but then sometimes with other spreadsheets I do???

More cells you select, means more potential different values. At some point Excel gives up

Do the cells on which you have a filter have a value? Once a filter hits a row with no value in it, it stops. Always make sure your cells have something even if just a -
