Hi all,

I'm heading off in June for travels of around 6-months all over (southern Europe, north & south America- and parts of Asia). I currently use a 13" MacBook - but feel this is too expensive and heavy to take travelling.

I'm looking for recommendations for a durable, lightweight netbook-- and one which I should be able to load up with Mac OS (rather than have to deal with Microsoft software).

*EDIT- will also need WiFi and v.v.v.v.v.good battery life.

EDIT2- (I really should've said more) I mainly need it for writing/email/web/photo uploads. Will not need it for games or movies or any of that stuff.*

Any help much appreciated.

11.6" MacBook Air - fits the bill perfectly.
I'm long term traveling with one at the moment, love it

11.6" MacBook Air here too ... love it. super light, big screen... But I've got in trouble for mentioning this unit on this board before ... some don't like the 'fancy' mac books...

iPad with camera connector kit and case/keyboard kit?

Hi guys- thanks for getting back to me.

While a Macbook Air would be the ideal model, I feel that they're a bit too expensive for me to be happy with buying and travelling with. I'd feel much more comfortable with something I'd be less concerned about, price-wise.

Perhaps iPad with keyboard attachment is the answer, as I have heard very good things about battery life. I will look into this; thanks.

Any other recommendations are much welcome!

The Dell 10inch netbook was commonly moded into an apple. Google it the instruction are all over, and they cost $250+ $40 for the OS.
