I wasn’t surprised at all that the mike and headphones, made in China, I have for use with my laptop fell to pieces after two
weeks. The factory owner got his money and that’s all he cares about but it’s inconvenient for me.

Anyway, I had my tape ready and the thing then continued to work. Now, however, another six weeks later, there is a loose wire inside the microphone cover. One wire is fixed to a screw in the top of the tiny mike but I can’t see where the other one should go. I don’t know if all mikes of this kind are wired in the same way but wonder if anyone could suggest how I can wire it so as make it work.

Thanks.

Ah, I've got the answer myself. In the poor light of this cafe, I mistook two terminals for a "screw". A resoldering job is needed, so I'll send it back to China to have it done under their doubtless fine, comprehensive guarantee.

Sorry to trouble you.
