I've just purchased a Canon IXUS 70 digital camera, and have shot off about 300 photos so far. VERY impressive. The colour processing and auto-focusing is absolutely fantastic. Ive written up a full review here if you're interested.

Including a 1Gig SD card and case, I paid $480 Australian.

Based on my experiences so far, I can thoroughly recommend this camera to travellers wanting a digital compact camera to take on the road.

Thanks for the review. I'm looking to upgrade my digital camera & the IXUS 70 is on the short list. I wish it has IS, but other than that, it's pretty much the perfect camera for me.

I don't own one, but I know a few people who have these cameras. I am impressed with the quality and think they are an excellent choice for anybody who wants to buy a compact camera.

Yep, have to agree. I am a novice at photography but have recently bought a Canon IXUS75 - the picture quality is sensational. This is a great camera for camera dummies, as just about everything is automatic.
