I`m currently considering buying the Google Nexus 10 or the Microsoft Surface RT, both with keyboards (is the idea), and I was wondering whether anyone knew whether I can buy such a tablet on LAX airport.
We`ve got an overlay there for a couple of hours so should have enough time.
It`s just that electronics are ridiculously expensive in New Zealand (where I live now), but I would really like a tablet for my trip (Skyping, blogging, surfing, etc.).

Just did a quick price comparo between Nexus 10 wifi 16g retails at AUD$469 in Oz and NZD$579 in NZ and USD$510 in USA so no real price difference. Don't see any reason why you want to buy one in USA??
Other tablets might be different.
In Domestic you probably can't buy a tablet. Everything in the airport costs more than outside. BestBuy sometimes has a vending machine but it usually just sells small things like earphones and mp3 players.
If you're flying international, you might have luck duty free.
Check Bestbuy.com and Amazon.com for the best prices and if you see one that cheap buy it. Looks like a Nexus10 from Amazon is just $430. But it'd be very difficult to get that price in the airport. If you have time to go into Los Angeles you can probably get it that cheap but you'll need to pay an extra 8% for sales tax.
