Can someone please help me. Even though I work on a computer all day, when it comes to doing things other than documents I'm hopeless. I have a fairly new computer and have bought a couple of rewritable disks. I've copied the relevant files to the staging area and it says "Files ready to be written to the CD". I've then clicked on "Write these files to CD" and the wizard has appeared. I've given the disk a name and clicked on "Next". I'm then asked to insert a writable disk - I've inserted a rewritable one. I've then clicked "Next" but nothing is happening and I'm not getting to the next screen. Have I done something wrong? I'd be most grateful if someone could explain what I should do next in very simple terms. Thanks.

It could well be that your CD burner only supports CD-R's or Cd+R's & not CR-RW's, especially if it's an older model. Try using a non-rewritable disc.

I've tried a non-rewritable disk too ... same result. The computer is only a couple of months old.

Have you tried using some software like 'Nero'? It comes free with a lot of CR drives. I use Nero and haven't had any problems.

Does the drive play CDs OK, but you just have problem with burning? Try Nero as #3 suggests because it has an 'InfoTool' that will tell you everything about your drive(s) and which media it supports.
