Am I a DVD Freak??

I know this post isn't travel related, but I am curious to hear what people think??

I own over (680) DVD's. All are original (non pirated) and about half are Region 1 or 2. The rest are Region 4, as I am Australian. I own a combination of Movies, TV Shows and Documentaries.

When I have friends come to my house the first thing they say is that I have alot of DVD's and the second is "Can I borrow some of them?" So does anybody think (680) DVD's are too many and is there anybody out there who has a bigger collection??

By the way, I don't have any Blu-ray's, but I do have about (10) VHS Movies & Documentaries.

The dvd rental shop down the road has more dvds than you :p.

I know someone who has thousands.

I've not got a lot of DVD's, but have over 50,000 music tracks.
I still don't consider that vast - compared to others.
Plus of course, I never get to play most of them.
I wouldn't consider that "Too many" - either.

Sadly, I've got about 2,500 DVD's. And, I'm now looking at moving to live overseas and have to sell most of the things I have in my house.

The local 2nd hand CD/DVD shop is only paying between $2 & $4 per title for ones which cost me as much as $40.

I've now come to the realisation that it's not worth buying titles - it's better to hire them.

Yeah I stopped buying movies on DVD in general. I still get TV shows and other things i like though.

You remind me of my neighbor who has a vast collection of VHS movie tapes that his home resembles a Blockbuster Video Store. He considered his VHS collection as an "investment." Unfortunately for him, DVDs became popular and his VHS collection is almost worthless. He's been trying to sell them without much luck. Now days, you can hardly find a VHS player in stores.

I believe DVDs (including CDs) will soon follow the same fate as VHS tapes. I recently read an article that said that computers are now being sold without DVD players so it might be sooner than later.

I've got thousands of DVD's, bought and downloaded. Also thousands of VHS videos too, with half a dozen brand new players to play them on when my several players no longer work. I have thousands of books too.

I feel sorry for the people who struggle to buy each new gadget and to get the latest technology before it goes out of date..
