Hey everybody,

In June my friends and I are planning on spending a month travelling around Eastern Europe. Very rough itinerary but thinking of starting in Lithuania and working our way down and around the place.

My question: we are looking at the interrail pass and realise that it would give lots more freedom and flexibility but would it make a lot more sense, economically, to just buy tickets as we need them? Are train tickets around Eastern Europe so cheap that buying an interrailing pass…

Am looking for a reasonably priced (ok: budget) roundabout flight leaving Gdansk (Poland) on 26 May to Moscow, need to spend two working days in Moscow. Then flying from Moscow to Bucharest on 29 May, where I'll need two working days and then fly back to Gdansk or Warsaw on 1 June (or possibly late on 31 May). If anyone out there is an expert into looking into these kind of flights, I'd be grateful to hear!
So, those dates again:

Gdansk to Moscow: 26 May (25 may will be okay too)

Moscow to…

Hello,

Does anybody know if travellers checks are accepted. I've been hearing stories that fewer and fewer banks are accepting them. Instead, credit cards and debit card are being more widely used. I was in Thailand and never had any trouble cashing my checks. That was in 2005. Has this form of currency changed this much since 2005? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping that we could get some suggestions for our next travel :)
Me and my husband are going out traveling in September. I have traveled most of the Middle East, major parts of North America and parts of Africa. My husband has bascially travel through all of Europe and North America. We are dedicated budget-backpackers. Sometimes we plann ahead, sometimes we act on impuls. As mentioned earlier we have no clue about where to go this time. All we know is that we want to go somewhere warmer (as…

Hi everyone, I'm a girl of 26 years old who recently got back from a solo trip to Bali.

The country is unbelievable and I highly recommend it to anyone, even young girls travelling on their own.

If you want to see some pictures, or if you have any questions on where to go/stay, itineraries, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help and share my experience.

Yay the thorn tree forum is back! Clearly I'm super late in realizing this haha. It's been a crazy year.

I found a helpful post about creative ways you can save...and I've personally done a few of these. Hope it helps anyone else looking for ways to travel cheaply and still get a full experience!

o I originally thought I was going to be limited to travelling in Europe. turns out I'm going to be allowed to go to place were ill need innoculations.
if my budget was 3000-4000 sterling, how long could I expect that to stretch for in east asia including flights from the uk innoculations and basically going to as many places as possible. all my research has been about travel in Europe.
but if I really slum it, how long? x
