Travel on a shoestring

I am going to italy for a week from august 23 to 30, flying into and out of rome. Yes I know too hot everyone is on holiday... we are just gonna have to wait and see!

We don't really have a itinerary but we want stay in rome for a couple of days either at the end or the beginning of the trip and are looking to head north towards florence before heading back to rome.. We have a hire car and are planning on just driving around wherever the road takes us..

Does anyone have any experience crossing the line from the Republic of Cyprus (south) to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, particularly with light luggage? Can I enter Cyrpus from Rhodes on a one-way ticket and then exit from the Turkish side to Turkey without difficulty? I am not an EU citizen.

Hi, we are a group of three 23 year old females looking to go camping for a week late July.

We are looking for somewhere that will have people of a similar age and a fun atmosphere! Our ideal holiday would be relaxing with a few bars to go to in the evening and maybe some water-sports or sites to see in the day. We are open to all suggestions, but money is the main limitation!! Preferably, we wouldn't want to spend much more than £200.

Hey, I'm going to Verona in just under 2 weeks. It'll be the start of my 2 month travels and I can't wait!

Should I book the hostel before I go, or is it ok just to turn up? Has anyone been to this hostel before?
I can't really find any details of other hostels in Verona, I found this one, Villa Francescatti, in the lonely planet Europe on a shoestring guide and thought it sounded quite interesting.

Also... how long should I stay in Verona for? I was thinking of booking in for three nights before…

Is there anyone who can tell me the most economic way to get from Amsterdam to Lourdes, I will only need a one way ticket.
I am trying to find out if it works out cheaper to buy a ticket on the spot first in A'dam and then another ticket in Paris or book the whole trip ahead.

A couple of friends and I are really keen to go Europe in mid 2008 for about 3 to 4 weeks. The problem is we do not even know where to begin.

First of all, can someone recommend areas where we could head to in that 3-4 weeks.

Some places we have narrowed down are:

Spain is a def must go for us... So we're working out which others on the list we could drop by in that 3-4 weeks.

Hi,

I'm travelling solo through northern and southern Spain this summer, planning on spending most nights in my small tent. I don't want to carry much though, and my 3 season sleeping bag is a bit big, so would i be alright with just a sheet or even nothing? And if not, where can i find a compact sleeping bag at such short notice??
