My girlfriend and I are leaving on a four month adventure this December. We live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, so basically as long as it's warmer or as cold than back home we're happy (plenty of -30 weather here). I've read my shoestring LP (bringing it), Rick Steeve's Backdoor, MTV Europe guide and browsed others. We've also been renting numerous DVD's from the library to get an idea of what we want to see. We want a nice mix of architecture, geography, history, some partying and some museums…
I know lots of people ask a similar question, but we're all a little bit different.
My husband and I want to travel somewhere relatively warm the second week in March for about 8 days. I want this to be a trip-trip, not wussy, but my husband hasn't done quite as much traveling as I have. We currently live in Minnesota, so for the most part Asia's out of the question (too far).
Here's what I'm thinking, but I'd love some input. I've been wanting to go to Croatia for a while, but it's still a…
I know I'm asking a stupid question here, but fellow travellers please give me some advice.
I'm planning to do a one month eurotrip mid nxt year, and this will be my first time to go around Europe, so picking the right guide book is quite important. From a glance I liked both LP Europe on a Shoestring and Eyewitness Guide. LP is good for its practical information, but I just can't imagine myself reading a book of that size with very little photograph; Eyewitness has tons of pictures so I know…
Managed to get vaguely cheap but nice accomodation in Bergamo/Milan/Rome but now worrying about the cost of food/travel. How much does a general meal cost and travel etc? Mainly in ROme as spending 5 days there, 3 in Bergamo and only 1 in Milan. I know you can get cheapo snacky places (slices of pizza etc) but just worrying about how expensive it ACTUALLY is having never been there before. Any advice would be appreciated :)
Ok so that time of year again, thinking about where to go for a few days this year. Flying out on 29th or 30th December and then back on the 1st or 2nd of January. (from and to the uk)
Anyone got any ideas? Somewhere fairly cheap whilst there and to get to.
Last year did Prague, year before dublin Been to Amsterdam loads of times, was in Barcelona earlier this year, not a big fan of France. Did think Berlin as been there earlier in the year for a stopover and seemed good but flights not looking to…
Yes, I have tried searching...and haven't found what I'm looking for. Help would be appreciated :)
would the following be legal with no visas:?
- 90-180 days in UK
- 90 days in a Schengen country
- 90-180 days in UK
- 90 days in a Schengen country
and so on.....
Because there clearly aren't enough!
I've been working in France (I'm australian) since Feb, and have a Carte de Sejour, which is basically my working visa, which lasts untill March next year. If i want to go backpacking before my French visa runs out, do i have to get a visa for the other schengen states (because i've already been in the schengen zone fore longer then 3 months), or will my French one cover me throughout?
Thanks for any help,
Allianne
Hi guys,
this will be my first time in europe but was only able to get 8 days off the last week of November.
i thought of taking a tour but there are no tours available on Paris and Amsterdam.
so my questions are:
- what is the most cost efficient train to go to amsterdam from paris or frm paris to amsterdam?
- do you think 4 days in Paris and 3 days in Amsterdam is just enough or should i just take the whole 8 days in paris?
- is it hard to get around in paris esp since we dont know any french?
-…
Hi, I am going for a 2 weeks trip in Nov to cover these cities.
Prague > Budapest > Salzburg > Munich > Frankfurt
The problem is there are no railpass to cover all these countries. The closest is the eurail selectpass, but will need to get another point-to-point ticket from Prague to Budapest, which cost 94USD.
The most "budget-friendly" combination I have found is to get a Eastern Europe pass (covers Prague, Budapest, Salzburg) and a Germany pass (covers Salzburg, Munich and Frankfurt).
But with…
Hi. Bear with me for a minute. In about 6 months I will be flying into London, then backpacking around the europe, then back to the uk on a working visa. As a means of accessing my money, am I able to open a uk bank account and transfer my money into it, then use my uk bank card around europe?
