I plan to get the Ferry from Northern Ireland to Scotland. They run from Belfast or Larne to these destinations as far as I have researched... the ones from Larne are done by P&O and the one from Belfast is done by Stena.

When I'm in Scotland I plan to have a Freedom of Scotland Rail Pass anyways, so the extra rail travel is of no concern money wise when i get there.

The question is... does anyone have any information or preferences on the two cruise companies and why?

Also is it worth going…

I'm planning on travelling to Europe this spring/summer and am wondering about the safety of travelling alone -- I'm 20, female, Canadian, meet people easily. I'll be using the busses a/o trains and staying mostly in hostels or cheap accommodation.

Here is a rough agenda of where I'd like to get to: Greece for 8-9 days, Italy 10 days, Croatia 8 days and perhaps Budapest, Hungary. At the end of it, I will be doing a Kontiki tour to Turkey and then on to Frankfurt after that before heading…

Hello,

Im travelling Europe from Latvia to Ital via:
Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Chec Rep, Germany, Croatia, Italy (not exactly in that order).

Some books recomend busses, some trains- so is it worth a train pass? Im thinking of getting one for Italy and germany because these are our longest journeys, we are spending around 4/5weeks in Italy and its more expensive.

We are thinking of bussing it around the rest of Europe.

Thanks a lot

Hi everyone. I posted a few weeks ago asking questions about a 3 month Europe tour by campervan (post is here if interested). Thanks to those who gave advice. Being sufficiently warned away from trying to arrange our own insurance by using a relative's address in Poland, I've been talking to a couple companies that operate out of Germany.

The service is pretty much the same: They source and sell you a campervan, arrange registration and 3rd-party insurance, and agree to buy the van back at…

We have 8-10 days in March. We want to go to 1 city in Europe w/our 7 &10 yr olds. I am worried about costs, so want to know the less expensive places. We were considering Barcelona. We would go to Prague or Venice or Paris or anywhere but was thinking Barcelona cheaper. Help. Kids have not been to Europe yet, we have. We were hoping for a city we didnt know yet, but money is probably bigger issue. Any suggestions?
Thanks very much!

I need advice!! I am planning a backpacking trip around europe leaving Oz June 08. I want to do a bit of sight seeing mainly eastern europe, then do some wooofing for six months up to a year. The romantic idea of a farmstay in the south of france has been recommended. Is this a good idea? Has anyone done something similar? What are my chances of obtaining a working holiday visa in france, should I apply when i'm over there after my tourist visa runs out?
