Hi, I am a medical student and get 3 weeks off in February, from 4th-27th. It will be my last decent length break for quite a while and really want to go somewhere memorable. I have a kinda flexible budget, but the cheaper the better as I have to get through another 2 years of uni! I travelled India for a copuple of months over the summer. I like trekking, experiencing new cultures and places, meeting new people etc. I had thought about scandanavia but the lack of daylight and weather (and cost)…
So i have been down to central/south america a few times in my life vagabonding all over the place and i was curious how alot of the long time travelers down there make their money? Making "local" jewelry for street corner sale? How many of you actually steal to survive when you travel lets say, food from a corner stand(i know its terrible but sometimes you are screwed) and has anyone ever LIED and said they were a travel writer and would write positive stuff about a hotel/hostel for a free…
So I have a solid 6 week gap from 1 june to mid july 2012 (generally before 18 July) and I'm looking forward to travelling to the europe region. My budget is 6K Euros. Accomodation will generally be relatives' and friends' houses but mostly through Couchsurfing because I want to immerse in countries where I don't have any friends yet.
I actually look forward to seeing these places:
England (London along with Cambridge University)
France
Germany
Spain
Italy (mostly)
Netherlands (Amsterdam…
Hi all,
I need to fly London-San Diego-London pretty much at the start of the Olympics in London (late July-early August 2012). I have already checked flight prices - they are a lot higher than one month either before or after, e.g. a direct fare with British Airways is around 1000 pounds.
I wonder if it is purely because of demand (in which case they are unlikely to come down later) or whether airlines are simply betting on high demand, and may yet reduce the fares later?
I'd be very…
I lied. I did find one for usairways.com.
But as a general rule have they done away with them???
I expected to see a "sign up for alerts" link on most major airline sites (United, Air Canada, British Airways, etc.).

Hello,
I'm thinking of travelling for a month somewhere (July - August 2012), not sure where. My friends are too busy to travel or have other commitments so, I will most likely be travelling alone (which I don't mind, but seems fun with someone else). Anyways. I'm from Canada and want to go somewhere for some adventure. I was thinking about going to several countries, and exploring them.
I'm not a very good planner for this type of stuff. Would be my first time travelling alone...
Anyone…
My boyfriend and I are planning a 2-3 week trip next Winter (2012 on hopefully $4000-5000 total including airfare from Vancouver/Seattle to our destination. We have a few ideas but we want to make sure we go to the best place at the best time of year where we can enjoy and take in as much as possible in 2-3 weeks. We like hiking/biking/Tasty-tasty food/safety/420(totally not neccesary) and don't mind the party scene. A couple options we were thinking about where either Denmark/Amsterdam or Peru…
My partner and I are planning on going away for 3 weeks in June 2012 (was going to be for 6 weeks but due to work commitments and finances we are now going on 2 x 3 week stints with 2nd stint being in 2013).
I'm 29 and my boyfriend is 25. This is our first 'travelling' experience although I think it's going to be seen as a bit more of a extended holiday. Were happy doing a few flights to get around. We want to see as much as possible in the time we're away but not completely tire ourselves out…
Hey guys,
So me and my partner are selling everything we own, and in september flying one way to thailand, travelling south initially, then back up towards laos, cambodia and the greater mekong. volunteering and working our way along, we are certainly not work shy!
We are not just planning on a travelling experience, but rather, changing our lifestyle, vagabonding if you will. We have plans to see much of the world but certainly will not be rushing ourselves as we have the rest of our lives…
My friend and I want to travel.
We are Canadian and tentatively plan to have 5000 Canadian dollars each.
We either A) Want to be backpackers and live for several months off that collective 10g
or B) Spend it (or hopefully less) or say a 40+ day excursion, probably with a group hosted by a dedicated company.
What should we do? Is busabout an inclusive trip itinerary with included food, excursions and places to stay or just transportation?
What are your suggestions?
