Hey guys =)

I was wondering if I could get some advice/ideas on where I should travel to next. I'm planning on spending 3 weeks- a month traveling in around 12 months time- so at the beginning of 2013. I'll be traveling on a budget- I don't want to spend more than $5000 (AUD) all up. This excludes my airfares and spending money of course. I do want to visit more than one country, but I don't want my holiday to be too rushed. I was wondering if any of you could give me any suggestions of where I should head? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

No doubt you will get some suggestions (many people want to push their favourites, for various reasons)...but without more input from you those suggestions will have little value ;-)

In particular-what do you want to do? What are your likes and dislikes? Do you like cities, different cultures, trekking, beaches, diving etc etc ?

Then...you say travel next.Where have you already been?

Also.....what is your total budget?

If you exclude air fares and spending money, what is that $5000 for? Only hotels?

Well... This is a bit like asking us what you should eat tonight.

Could you please be more specific? What countries have you visited already and what did/didn't you like about them?

Which is exactly the same as lucapal asked already... Never mind.

Visit Laos and northern Thailand.

Have shephard's pie and green salad for dinner.

Glad to help ;)

So how will lots of suggestions help, if you're not traveling till a year from now?

Who's taking this trip anyway?

Come back to us, when you know what questions to ask.

And also with a few hints on what you like/want from your trip?

My total budget is $5000 (AUD), including spending money (sorry my mistake) BUT not including my initial airfare out of Australia.
I've already been to Egypt, and have traveled extensively within Australia. I love different cultures and would love a holiday where I could immerse myself in that. I also love history, trekking (nothing too intense), nature/wildlife and cities. I'd love to backpack, camp, and perhaps even cycle a little! Again, I really appreciate the suggestions. I'm most likely going to be traveling alone. Sorry if I'm being to vague!

Well the obvious choice would be SE Asia then, relatively cheap, covers the different culture criteria (plenty of times over), you've got nature wildlife galore in Malaysia, Borneo, Thailand, Phillipines, etc etc etc, cities abound in Singapore, Bangkok, etc. Vietnam is a cyclers paradise! And don't worry about travelling alone, best way to do it!
