Hi,
I'm planning a backpacking trip to Europe in the fall (Oct-Nov) and being a first time backpacker from Canada I could use some advice on destinations, itinerary, transportation etc. I've been doing some research and reading a few guide books so I have a general idea of what to expect but could use some experienced advice.
My budget is roughly $5000~ and I plan on traveling for just under 6 weeks (41 days). I have my flight tickets and I'll be flying into Dublin, Ireland on Oct 13 and flying out of Berlin, Germany on Nov 23. I would like to see a few of the bigger cities but also spend some time in smaller towns; get a good mix of culture, history, scenery etc.
That being said I feel like I'm being over-zealous with my itinerary. I'm looking at visiting Galway, Cork, Kilkenny and Dublin in Ireland then flying over to Edinburgh in Scotland, then making my way South to London. After that fly to Netherlands and then Germany.
That summarizes what I have figured out right now. Currently, I'm traveling alone and a bit nervous. Does my budget seem reasonable?, Is fall a good time to visit Europe?, Can I wiggle in another Country?
Any information would be greatly appreciated, especially more destinations in England, Germany, and maybe France?
Sincerely,
An Edgar Canadian Backpacker
