I have just 9 days over Easter for a holiday, and as it coincides with my 30th birthday I want to make it memorable.
I've narrowed down my choice of destinations to Italy, Spain or Ireland. Given that they're all majority Catholic countries, I'm looking for advice on where would be the best, easiest or most interesting place to visit during this time. Also, which regions would be recommended for each country - I've never been to any.
Exact dates would be from 20 - 29th March.
I love getting out of cities, exploring villages and cultural activities, and food! In order to celebrate my birthday I'm thinking of more of an indulgent trip instead of camping in the wilderness or hiking etc.
I know I will have to limit myself to 1 or 2 regions in whichever country I choose given limited time, so if you could give me advice on your favourite place/places in any of the countries I'm interested in I'd really appreciate it. Any advice at all you have on travelling during the Easter holidays as well would be great as I'm quite woried about how it will affect my visit, e.g. will things be open, will traffic/travel be crazy, difficult to get or too expensive.
Thanks in advance!
