Traveling in Europe - Britain

Interest forums / Travel on a shoestring

Hi- We are looking at doing a trip from Australia in September to Europe and Britain .. We would love to travel at our own speed in a campervan so we also have our own accommodation . It sounds like it is dificult to buy one in Europe so does it work easier if you buy a campervan in England ?
Last time I did a trip in Europe we had our own car & tent with 3 girls which was fun , This time I am 47 & my husband is 65 so after a bit more comfort however we are still on a budget .
Do you have any reccomendations ?

Do a search there was a post about this exact thing a couple months back.

Hi....*freecampingaussie - and welcome to Thorn Tree.
I hope you have a very long and happy stay with us all.
Easier?....
Here in The UK, we drive on the left - and almost everywhere else in Europe, with just a very few exceptions, they drive on the right.
Also - the UK is just about the easiest place on the planet to buy a S/H vehicle. The paperwork is minimal and there is a bucket load of websites to help Non-UK'ers get 'On The Road.'
If you need any advice - send me a PM (private message) and I'll send you some direct links to make the whole procedure even easier.
Hope it all comes together really well.
Sounds like a great trip.

buying the campervan might be easy. I'm not sure that insuring it will be, and it certainly won't be cheap.
