Greetings friends!

I am going to be traveling for four and a half months beginning the first of April... my itinerary has me departing from SFO to Auckland, NZ (spending one months there) then on to Colombo, Sri Lanka (about one week there) then on to Delhi, India where I will have about 2 months overland on my own, flying out of Chennai/Madras and back to SFO mid-August (with a potential one week stopover in Tahiti on my way home).

I have been working with Airtreks to get an idea of pricing and they quoted me $3100. I would be so grateful to know if anyone has advice on ticketing and prices... is this a reasonable airfare ? Should I try to secure the tickets myself for cheaper ? Doe anyone recommend a certain agency/airlines/etc. for this particular trip ? I have looked into the OneWrold Explorer tickets...would that be a better way to go ? This is all new to me, so any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Mahalo nui,
Gia
