Is entirely possible. I've done it and you can do it too. If you dream of making the move the Euro-landia and you think you don't or won't have the money to do it, then read this article http://www.bcnweek.com/feature40.html and/or ask me for help directly. This can be done. It's being done as we speak by at least 60% of my friends from all over the world. And if it can be done in Barcelona, it can be done a great many more places. Viva la vida buena!
Mileuristas livin' the dream

Yes is great to be broken. I did a few years ago, now unfortunatley I earn a better salary. I really miss the fun. Err... no. Honestly, I don't miss the old days, even these times were really instructive.
And yes, the article is sarcastic and pretty depressing IMHO.
Of course it may be done, and there is not other option for many people. But if your concept of "la vida buena" is something more than getting drunk with cheap Xibeca, after a while being "setcentseurista" becomes quite frustrating. Saying it's funny to earn a crap salary is pretty insulting to many of us who have been there or still being there but trying to improve. Especially when this crap salary should be "elonged" to maintain a whole family.
Exactly.
If you read the comments underneath, many of the "mileuristas" rely on hand outs and one admits to stealing.... I wouldn't call that a good method of "living your dream".
Even here in Andalucia a 1000 euros is considered borderline crap salary. I can't imagine having to survive on that in a city as expensive as Barcelona. How can you enjoy life if all you're thinking about is whether you can afford an extra roll of toilet paper? I empathise with people who are stuck with that life style - I've been there too, but I wouldn't choose it just to be able to live in BCN and I wouldn't pretend it's "cool".
