Hello all,
I am going to be in Birmingham for 10 days and almost all of my money will be going for the plane fare. I just need a place where I can sleep - doesn't have to be fancy or much more than habitable, but renting a car and sleeping in it seems too risky. Please give me any advice you have. Cheers,
Lucy

What is your £aim for accommodation and when?

£29 a night at Travelodge Bull Ring available for imminent dates.

If you are a single female travelling alone, please do not even consider sleeping in a car in the middle of ANY big city.It is not worth the risk.

That suggestion above is a good one....you can get decent (though small) and cheap rooms at the Travelodge.

However if you want to spend less, and are happy with a dorm, there are several backpackers in Birmingham...you can get a bed from about £10-12 a night.....I've never stayed there, but I have heard that Birmingham Central Backpackers is the best.

Have a look on Hostelworld.com....you will see options, prices and availability.

Try Couchsurfing - read the site and check the guidelines and I'm sure you'll find something. We've done it for over 100 nights.

even if it weren't a silly idea, do you know what car rental costs in the UK?

look up the prices for hostels. If you can't afford that, you probably can't afford your holiday so do it another time when you can.
