Hi,

I will be visiting strasbourg shortly and have a week-end free. Is there a bus service to paris for a quick day trip?

There is no long distance domestic bus service in France. The French National Railways (SNCF) have a monopoly on this.

You can find cheap train tickets on the www.sncf.com site, but you must reserve well in advance and stick to your plan as the cheap tickets cannot be changed.

as #1, in fact this applies to about anywhere in mainland EUR. The NEW superfast TGV-est has been opneed here last yr, the fastest train trip takes now like less as 3 hrs. By bus to cover some 500+ kms would take at least 6. You seem to have no idea about distance.

There are plenty of international bus lines by Eurolines, even to nearby cities like Brussels (with tickets starting at 8€).

Travel time by train to Strasbourg is 2h20.

You should stick to Alsace or may be nearby Germany. Plenty to see for a week end. Booking a return trip to Paris by TGV at short notice will definitly come not cheap.
