Ignore the rude people who are telling you to cancel your trip

She was the one who said she definitely didn't have enough money, and that she was "desperate". We were trying to be sensible, not rude. If posters don't give all the facts up-front, it's hard to give good advice.

it's a once in a lifetime trip

No it's not. I'm heading off on my third 6-month trip soon. And that's nothing to what some people manage.

No way is it a 'once in a lifetime' trip. If you are in a position to go on a RTW trip once, you certainly will be able to do more of the same as you get older (and hopefully more established)

@angienofrills - You seriously think the OP is going to listen to your 'expert opinion' and vast knowledge of 4 posts, as opposed to someone like joolz2 who has well over 6,000 posts? Or the other veteran posters on here like Toad.

yes i suppose very tight budgeting will be necessary! i think for me, at the moment it is a trip of a lifetime as im not sure when ill next get to do it/depending on the career path i choose so i will make the most of it and unfortunately because of uni i cant put it on hold in time to save more! but thank you angienothrills, i dont think you were claiming you had 'superior advice' at all and thought your comment was actually really kind and refreshing to read! i am very envious of all of you who have managed a few 6month trips and hope theyve all been amazing! :)
