| saleh_0906:21 UTC25 Jun 2007 | Hi Guys,
Myself and several friends are going interraling through Europe for a month from mid August, we really want to see some great places and possibly do some sporting activities if possible.
Any insight into the best cities to visit or any routes that people took interrailing would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance...
S.

As cities go, you can't beat the old favourites, Paris, Rome, Venice, Prague, Stockholm. And Krakow, with nearby Auschwitz a must-see. And I love Istanbul, where east meets west, that's in a whole other ball game. I love Athens, too, for the Akropolis and plaka, though some hate it. Vienna I can take or leave, though again, some would disagree. Budapest is nice, but not quite as good as Prague or Krakow.
The choice is yours, I'd get a guidebook and start researching what might grab you.
Route-wise, there's some great scenic routes through the alps in Switzerland, including the Gotthard route Zurch-Milan and Arlberg Zurich-Innsbruck.
InterRail-wise, I've put some explanation of how the pass works, when you do and don't need to make reservations and pay supplements, and how much those supplements are likely to be, at www.seat61.com/InterRail.htm</a>

Royal magic city of Krakow for sure. Also recomend Gdansk - nicest old city on Baltic sea. I like also Warsaw, its medieval sights such as a skyscraper downtown. Strongly recomend!! http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/79000/79c0a/
