Our group is roughly 15 people, we are horticulturaly (gardening) minded with the idea of visiting a number of prominent gardens in the region around paris such as versaille and monets garden and we are a little stuck at this stage with accomodation.

can anyone give us some suggestions to places you may have stayed in, or that are close to a metro or the regionall rail lines which we would need to use to get to these gardens??

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

ANYwhere in Paris proper is in the city and whithin 5 mins of a metro, any metro links into the regional RER into Versailles, etc. can also buy 1day passes to cover all.
use the normal hotls.com, hoetlbookings, whatever site that google turns up. note that the week of may 1 is VERY busy ANYwhere in europe's cities: many holidays, and thus thousands of tourists. also FR has the knack (like the UK on 25/12) to close down much of its transpo on 1/5, mornings, as to the workers to allow those glorious socialist movement processions. try a week later if at all feasible.
PS: specific Qs re 1 place are FAR better posted on the relevant country branch. This branch if for havenomoney tinylowbudget travellers/bekpekkers

That's a group! I don't know how long you will be staying in Paris, but maybe you should try to find an apartment (or 2, as you are 15). Anyway, you should hurry on making your reservations, May is a busy month for tourism in Paris.
You may want to try http://www.myvideoplanet.com, they have a nice choice of serviced apartments and hotel room, and they have videos, so you can watch what you will book ;)
