Greek islands

From now on until the end of September is the best time for island Hopping in Greece .Check the timetables of the Greek ferries if you want to visit some nice small islands away from the main stream tourism ,Leros,Lipsi ,Anafi ,Kimolos ,Serifos ,Ikaria ,Agathonisi ,Gavdos the southernmost island of Greece ,Kythira ,Nisyros ,Kasos and many more. Most of those islands have direct ferry connections from Piraeus and some they have airports as well.Holidays in Greece are always cheaper in the small and unknown to package tourism islands. Room prices are between 30 - 35 euro depending on the bargain with the locals ,a meal for 2 in a local restaurant cost no more then 20 euro (if you don't order lobsters for lunch ...) and a good idea is always the self catering accommodation if you intend to stay longer ,shopping from the local supermarket and cook at the room can save you a good deal of money.

I am going to Athens quickly to see the Acropolis but i am also wanting to spend a few days on some beautiful remote (ish) island close by that is cheap for a backpacker (early August). Can someone please help me out with any ideas please
