So I'm planning on taking the next few months off (at least, but possibly longer) to just work my way around certain parts of the world. I'm starting in South America, but not before visiting my family in Guatemala and Belize, and then going to Europe. From there I don't know, but what I do know is that I want to do a multi-leg plane ticket. I usually do this when I'm flying to places in close proximity but this is obviously different. Ideally, my flight would read thus: Las Vegas -----> Guatemala Guatemala -----> Colombia Colombia---------> London, Rome, or any major city in Western Europe I'm willing to cut out Guatemala and just visit my family when I'm on my way home. Also worth mentioning that I plan to leave at the end of July but would delay if it meant spending less. I'm just wondering if this kind of flight is even feasible for less than 2 grand (which seems to be the average price on cheaptickets). I'm pretty good at finding cheap flights; the middle of the week is best and close to the date (but not too close) always gives me good deals. Has anyone ever done a leg like this? Or, for those traveling to countries that aren't close, are you buying separate plane tickets?
That is a really complicated route. You would have to change between Las Vegas and Guat (say in Dallas) and also between Guat. and Bogota I think (probably in Panama). And maybe in Miami between Bogota and London ;-) I don't think you will get that for much less than $2000 | 1
I'm just wondering if this kind of flight is even feasible for less than 2 grand (which seems to be the average price on cheaptickets). You are flying with short notice but I've checked the prices of one way flights for that routes and on some dates you can do it for less than 2000 US dollars. There are perhaps cheaper options but it seems that it's sure that you can do it for less than 2000 US dollars. | 2
Yeah I know it's complicated. It would be better if I stick to either South America or Europe to avoid all of this, but I hate spending so much money on individual flights when I could just do it all in one multi-leg ticket. anillos: thanks so much for all the tips! I usually fly United and I've always assumed that flying into the biggest airport = cheaper flights, so I usually opt for capital cities. I've never put much thought into flying into smaller cities so thanks for that. | 3
Hi, I think you will find my website interesting for cheap-flight tricks: Colombia is fantastic! You will never want to leave! | 4
