So I'm planning on taking the next few months off (at least, but possibly longer) to just work my way around certain parts of the world. I'm starting in South America, but not before visiting my family in Guatemala and Belize, and then going to Europe. From there I don't know, but what I do know is that I want to do a multi-leg plane ticket. I usually do this when I'm flying to places in close proximity but this is obviously different. Ideally, my flight would read thus:
Las Vegas -----> Guatemala
Guatemala -----> Colombia
Colombia---------> London, Rome, or any major city in Western Europe
I'm willing to cut out Guatemala and just visit my family when I'm on my way home. Also worth mentioning that I plan to leave at the end of July but would delay if it meant spending less.
I'm just wondering if this kind of flight is even feasible for less than 2 grand (which seems to be the average price on cheaptickets). I'm pretty good at finding cheap flights; the middle of the week is best and close to the date (but not too close) always gives me good deals.
Has anyone ever done a leg like this? Or, for those traveling to countries that aren't close, are you buying separate plane tickets?
