Hey there fellow travelers,
I'd like to ask for some advice. My boyfriend are about half way though our working holiday in London. This summer we want to do a trip through Europe - on a shoestring! I would like to know if you think it would be better to get the Interrail Global Pass 10 days in 22 days 2nd class £268 x 2. Or there are wickedcampers you can hire in Italy and so we can sleep in the van and drive around ourselves (£840 for 3 weeks).
I guess if we get the rail pass I guess we go something like fly from London to Amsterdam then go - Netherlands - Germany - Switzerland - Italy - Slovenia - Croatia and down to Greece and fly back. If by car we have to start in Italy and so would not further north then the south of Germany, then drive down to Greece.
So i guess we have to compare the advantages of just jumping on a train and overnight travel to driving ourselves and not having to pay for accommodation and eating cheaper but having to navigate roads and pay for petrol.
The other big question i have is when do you think it is best to go? I definitely want it to be in summer when it's hot! But probably not right at the peak of the tourist season when prices will be inflated!!
Please let me know what you think or if you or anyone you know have done a similar trip.
Cheers!
