Im going to Paris for the first time in march, for three days. Im a student. Any tips on places to sleep close to the city centre. Cheap. Doesn't matter if it's run down. Also, i don't care about the attractions, just the prize of booze. Is it cheap to get drunk in Paris? Tips on shabby but clean places to eat welcome. Is 25 euros a day a reasonable amount to get by? I am NOT interested in souvenirs either.
Last question. Will the french slap me if i don't speak french?

You're not interested in any attraction, only in getting drunk? You can save a lot of money if you get drunk at home, just think of the money spent on the fare and accomodation! No need to spend it in vain! Take it and get drunk at home instead.

Of course, the very cheapest drinks is VIN (rouge, blanc), ask ANY clocahrd, he certainly knows where its ''le plus moins cher!
!ltr bottles at big hypermarchés sell for 99 ct or even less on promotions.
he cheapest strong (eau de vie) sells for 5 eur/3/4 ltr.
cheapo-sleepo: hostelz, hotelworld, pleae AVOID those with people seeking peace+quiet.

Oh please, what's up with the attitude? Who said i was not interested in art, i'm breathing bloody art, design, advertising and all that at the mo', thanks to school. I just wanna get away from the hype for a moment. Paris is Paris, im sure the culture doesnt disappear til' next time. Also, art imitates life, so the best way of getting inspiration for new great things, is to live it. I just want to walk the streets of Paris, drink wine and meet people, if you think i'm pretentious for it, you're spot on. You should relax, i'm dead certain that you are one of those annoying "i've seen it all" travellers who gets pissed off and corrects people when they say "Calcutta" instead of "Kolkata".
If there is anyone else who likes to put me down and call me a troll etc. Write a book, i'm sure a lot of people are interested in your opinions about my questions. This thread is for serious tips.
I found alcohol in bars and restaurants in Paris was surprisingly expensive. Supermarkets are the way to go: Lidl have branches there, but the wine was of such poor quality that I used it as toilet cleaner.
