Cheapoair via skyscanner

Interest forums / Travel on a shoestring

I just had a bad experience with Cheapoair which I really could not even believe. I found a low fare on skyscanner which then took me to Cheapoair to book. I was about to enter my credit card and then decided to call to inquire about later retunring dates... We went through my itinerary and the customer help told me that flight was no longer available. I can understand that, it happens... The customer help told me to try to buy the ticket and I would see that the ticket was no longer available. From what I understood I would still be charged for the new ticket price which I could later have removed from my credit card and also pay an $81 fee to the airline. I could not believe this part was actually true, but of course did not want to submit credit card info to find out. I asked the helper several times and she continued to report that policy. I was so angry, it seemed like such a corrupt business, I honestly could not even believe it existed... Still in my mind I have to think they would just give notification that the ticket is no longer available at that price, but thats not how it sounded from her. Very corrupt business...

So the site tells you that it is going to take a certain amount of money off your credit card, then actually takes more? That doesn't even sounds legal. Where are they based?

I don't understand

Me neither.

taking a second look at OP's comments though, I'd have been tempted just to hang up - and go to the airline's direct website.
Just a thought.

I tried to book a flight on Cheapo (linked through skyscanner) and it informed me that the flight wasn't available anymore, so didn't book. Playing around the next day same low price on skyscanner through Cheapo, this time it said they had it so I booked and had an email right away telling me how the flight I booked wasn't available, but for only another $500 they could put me on this other flight.

I was planning on calling them in a few days, but wasn't in a huge hurry as my visa covers all travel cancellations and I was working night shift and not very cognative during the day. Anyway they phoned up the next day pressuring me to take this other flight and I said I wouldn't pay anymore and only the days I booked worked for me so they did give me a full refund. Ended up booking on Expedia for about $50 more.
