10 days- Where should we go?

Outdoorsy adventures and learning new cultures in 10 days? Hawaii surfing trip or Alaska hiking trip. Though I am certain you can do both in either place.

Thailand, China, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam.

Some of those might be more expensive to get to, but you would save on costs once you're there. $150/day would be more than enough for two people in most of SE Asia.

Brazil would be a great choice!

Central or South America would make more sense, no jet lag and less travel time. Asia is too far for 10 days, by the time you get there you will only have one week, not worth it. Yes do SEAsia or China in a week, have these people actually been to these places?

Mexico - Chiapas ( San Cristobal de Las Casas, Palenque). Archeological sites, echo tourism, food, music, color, etc....

Oaxaca is an all time favorite as well or you may consider Guadalajara , Guanajuato and Morelia also in Mexico.

Remember that the violence is in the north of the country, Juarez and Monterey. Even Tijuana is calm . I drive through Tijuana on my way to Ensenada and it's a breeze on the toll road.
