Hi all!

I'm just in the process of planning my vacation having a tough budget. So let me describe the situation. There are 2 of us - my husband and I. The starting point is Ukraine. We are planning to have a trip in early July. Have a chance to go somewhere only for 12 days (including way there and back). What we want: lots of sun, christal blue water (sea, ocean), white sand and less tourists. We are both fond of snorkelling, so spectacular underwater life would be a benefit. We are not interested in nightlife at all. But as I've already mentioned we have a limited budget - 1500$ for everything. Any ideas where to go (except Thailand, Egypt, Turkey, Greece). Would be grateful for any ideas! Thank you.

Bulgaria - a short trip down the Black Sea Coast from Ukraine, through Romania - and you're there already.
Cheap everything, from a bed to food - and from public transport to drinks on the beach.
Lovely clean coastline - too.

Look for a cheap all inclusive package somewhere.

$1500US between you including flights? In July?

By the time you get out of Europe, you are going to have little or nothing left....so I'd go with Bulgaria as #1 suggests.Cheap, sunny, not too many tourists, nice sea...maybe not spectacular underwater, but you can't have everything with that budget ;-)

If that $1500US is EACH...then I'd be looking at Indonesia. Also very cheap (apart from the airfare to get there)..with the beaches and the underwater life.

Thank you all for answering and helpful ideas! I know that the budget is the Achilles' heel, but that wont stop me:-))) and that is the reason why I've wrote this post - to brainstorm the ideas. To #3, Pau, thank you for the tip about Albania! Words "crystal blue" work as a magic spell:-)

In summer there is a direct train from Kiev to Bar(Montenegro) twice per week. Bar is quite close to Albania.

It`s quite a long trip however, so I would rather break the trip for a day or two in Budapest or Beograd.

The only problem is the Schengen Visa for Hungary, so it might be better to fly.

Seems like my plan is becoming more definite. Thank you all for your help.

Can anyone hint about chip airlines to Albania or Montenegro from Western Europe (from Ukraine I mean)? Cause google doesn't like me today I guess:-)))

To #8 - Montenegro is a fantastic place to go. I've read about Kotor Bay, Budva, Ulcinj a lot! They are unbelievable. The only thing is that they are interesting not only because of beaches, but also because of great culture and places to go/to see. So I would feel guilty for spending all time in water with the mask :-)))) But still I will think about these places. Thank you.

You'll find overall, that Bulgaria is cheaper than Montenegro.
Montenegro is prettier - though.

Take the freighter from Odessa to Batumi, Georgia. Plenty of nice places along the Black Sea and it is cheap.
