I recently spent a couple of days in Nauru and I loved it - a most unusual country! Since useful information about this tiny nation is rather scarce and there are no updated guidebooks, here I'd like to share my own information and experiences:

  1. Practical travel information on Nauru - useful information to plan your trip
  2. Sightseeing in Nauru - nature, phosphate industry, WWII relics, state institutions etc.
  3. Visa and entry requirements - quite a hassle.
  4. General impression and experiences

Bethlehem without the love of Jesus Christ
The birthplace of Jesus Christ 2017 years ago. It has changed a lot and many things have since shaped the town of Bethlehem and given the city much more history, but today this is where our story starts.

In late June, I swung a three-night stopover en route from Tokyo to Toronto. As my wife and I already planned a self-drive adventure further afield in July, I would explore Reykjavik instead, drifting around town with a camera in hand and nowhere to be, nothing to do for 72 hours…

Read the story, and check out the photo gallery, at Reykjavik Kills Me

One step into the Victorian precinct of Oamaru and you instantly know why it became the Steampunk Capital of New Zealand. Check out my photos of this interesting South Island community that Father Time forgot:

Wildlife spotting is always incredible. Recently we spotted endangered yellow-eyed penguins on New Zealand's South Island. Check out my photos and information on these birds and where to see them. They are considered to be the world's rarest penguin.
