The story behind the structure and the social customs was heart -wrenching to read and know. Even though I am from India, to go back in times while visiting this beautiful structure was emotionally draining as the social practice of Sati has been long abolished.I have documented about it on my blog.. I recently visited a "Long Neck Village" in Thailand, where "dragon ladies" whose necks are elongated since the age of 5 with brass rings are on display for tourists. I felt naive and embarrassed to have participated in it so I wrote a blog post about it.
