Is it safe to travel around Guatemala? Should you be concerned about your safety while traveling through Guatemala? Can you travel there solo? As a female?

From rape to robbery, and death to disaster, you would not believe the comments I was flooded with before leaving to Guatemala.

That would be the reputation....but what was the reality?

Winter windsurfing in Russia on the Black Sea. All my emotions in new film. New special effects used in editing, I hope you will appreciate it.
The film is quite atmospheric, so add brightness on the screen and volume. I have lost at sea my GoPro camera shooting this film, as well as a new GoPro Hero 5 of my friend almost lost due to mount was broken when I bedly lended one of the jumps.
Thanks to Maria Nelasova for the shooting from the beach

I happened to visit a heritage monument by name 'Moosi Maharani Ki Chatri' at Alwar in the Indian State of Rajasthan.
The story behind the structure and the social customs was heart -wrenching to read and know. Even though I am from India, to go back in times while visiting this beautiful structure was emotionally draining as the social practice of Sati has been long abolished.I have documented about it on my blog.. PolkaJunction

Have you come across such social-practices which are abolished…

I recently visited a "Long Neck Village" in Thailand, where "dragon ladies" whose necks are elongated since the age of 5 with brass rings are on display for tourists. I felt naive and embarrassed to have participated in it so I wrote a blog post about it. I'm wondering if others have visited and/or then handled writing about places or attractions that may be exploiting people or be unethical for other reasons. Than you!

I don't even know if this is going to work. For 23 years I worked as a Police Detective outside NYC. After investigating my last hanging of a 14-year-old child- I knew I was done. I took my papers in, retired with a pension and thought my life would finally open up......WRONG...... the first month was sheer depression. My position was replaced, I heard from the guys rarely to never and sank deeper. To add to this joyful story, my GF of 5 years leaves me, and I'm just spent. I talked to a…
