LP Pathfinders: What did you Instagram this month [April 2016]

Destination: Sólheimasandur, Iceland.
Context: On Saturday Nov 24, 1973 a United States Navy Douglas Super DC-3 airplane crash landed on Sólheimasandur’s black sand beach, but luckily all of the crew survived. Today the site of the abandoned fuselage is one of Iceland's most photographed locations. The last I heard was that in recent weeks the landowners of this area have restricted access to tourists but I was lucky to visit the site in winter when the black sand beach was covered under a white layer of snow.

Destination: Öndverðanes, Iceland.
Context: Öndverðanes, on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula was an unexpected stop for my friend Ingo and me on our road trip across the peninsula but was more than worth it. I'd never seen waves as massive as the ones I saw crashing into the rocks here.

Destination: Burj Khalifa, Dubai
Context: Though I've lived in the city for several years, the Burj Khalifa is a sight that never fails to amaze me. On this evening, as I looked up at the beautifully lit structure from the terrace of the Armani Hotel, this still held true.

Destination: San Pancho, Mexico
Context: A delicious and colourful lunch in Mexico – Gorditas and agua fresca!

Destination : Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Context : Mallorca is a lot more than a party place. Being in the plane after a few days in Palma de Mallorca I was humbled by this Spanish Island that has a lot more to it than being a party place. The streets in Palma enchanted me and being on the plane heading back home and this view just left me with one word. Wow.

Destination: Bangkok, Thailand.
Context: This is a shot of Wat Arun, temple on the banks of the Chao Phraya river. I came here early morning to see its white surface reflecting the sunlight. Most of the times, this temple is pictured lit at night.

Destination: Panna National Park, Madhya Pradesh, central India.
Context: I reached the Panna National Park in the hopes of spotting a tiger, but as usual in the Indian forests, one of the early greeters were spotted deer. This young one probably got alerted by a peacock call and raised its head from the bushes. I took the opportunity to click from my open-roof safari jeep.

Destination: El Nido, Palawan, Philippines.

Context: We reached one of the small lagoons as part of our island-hopping trip in El Nido, north Palawan. When the others jumped into the inviting turquoise water, I stayed in the boat to first admire the panorama around me and then the sights of snorkelers.
