Looking for advice and suggestions on island hoping in the CaribbeanInterest forums / Travel Bloggers and Pathfinders
Hello everyone, My fiancé and I are planning a 2 week winter honeymoon gateway over the christmas holidays of 2012 to the Caribbean. We are looking for sun, sand, waterfalls, volcanos, adventure, relaxation, culture, and of course warm weather, as we will be visiting from Canada :) So far we have narrowed it down to see these island : Martinique, Dominica, Saint Lucia and Guadeloupe. (However are still open to visit more if time permits) I discovered that we could get a direct flight from Montréal down to Guadeloupe (direct flights apparently leave each Saturday). However are looking for a direct flight back to Montréal from one of the other islands if possible. Any suggestions for the best way to see these islands, any hidden spots to visit, how to get around, places to stay would all be greatly appreciated. We look forward to reading your stories and to learn about your adventures!
Opps, just realized my typo, sorry : Island Hopping. | 1
I've been to several Caribbean islands. Here's St Lucia and Grenada Barbados I have friends in Dominica, and it's supposed to be off the chain, beauty wise. The Virgin Islands (US and Brit) are absolutely beautiful. I did not care for the Dutch side of St Maarten, but the French side St Martin is quieter. Aruba was ok - flat and desert like. Curacao, now a new country, is supposed to be really good, esp for diving. | 2
