Hey guys!

I've only been on the road for two months (out of two years) and I'm already noticing that the frequency of my posts in slipping. So I was just wondering, for those of you that have your own blogs, how often do you post?

What do you think the ideal amount is?

Thanks a bunch!

Great question, Steve. I have only been getting 2 or 3 blogs up each month and would really like to aim for once a week. In reviewing my "Google Analytics" and FB Insight around blogs, I get heavier readership when I post more often. I use the charts to see what is resonant with my audience, and consider delivering more "like" material.

Hey Steve,

How important is it for you to blog every moment of your travels? Are you after a loyal following?

I try to post every couple of days just to remind people that my blog exists - to keep them interested and coming back. Not always very long posts at all. But I have very little idea of how to rank high in search engines and all that stuff (maybe someone can help me with that?! please?!) so I just write and write and forget about the marketing. Probably not the smartest move. Hmmm...

Some blog platforms let you schedule posts - I've found this really useful - a few days writing can be followed by a couple of weeks off if you do it like that (although bad, bad internet connections in Bolivia are really slowing things up for me at the moment). You're using Wordpress too, right? Schedule it up!

Just read your About info on your blog and had a good giggle. Good luck with it all! And enjoy the solo adventure.

I try to achieve one post by week. I have a travel photography blog. On MWTTL I am sharing short stories around one great photography I took during my travels. Even though the stories are short it takes quite some time to think and bring the thoughts "on paper" especially if you care and try to be different.

Finola mentioned the possibility to schedule posts. It's really good and I am slowly working on it.

I try for twice a month, but really, it's when I feel I have something worth writing about, or some pictures that might interest other people. Don't think you can post too often, unless you're just posting because 'it's time to post'. Think there might be a danger of writing drivel if you get caught in that cycle.
Think you'll only get this right by trial and error.
