Why is it that Instagrammers get so many more opportunities and more money than bloggers these days?
I'm not complaining; I'm asking for explanations and, more importantly, looking for solutions.
According to a quick calculation I did, a blog post that gets just 500 views a month generates the same amount of attention as an Instagram post on an account with 100,000 followers. Going rates for such an Instagram post is about $1,000. But for a such a blog post... roughly $0. (You can see the post on it here.)
What's wrong with my logic? (...I'm sure there's plenty.)
And how can we advocate the value of blogs?
If you have any thoughts or ideas on the topic, pro or con, please share.
Thanks,
Chris
