so i have had a career change of plans and im taking time out of england to try and get a career in conservation. i have done a 10 week conservation period a few years back in cambodia through frontier and gained an advanced BTEC through it. so i think i want to get back into it and get away from the daily grind here in england.

i really really want to get involved in animal conservation and have seen plenty of places which allow me to volunteer on the cheap for unlimited periods of time, but…

I'm a 26-year-old Australian who has just moved to Paris on a French Working Holiday Visa.

I've found a job here (yay!) but am just wondering how many hours I am able to work - is it unlimited? I've been looking on the embassy website, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.

It also mentions something about applying for a temporary work permit once work is found - does anyone know how to do this?

It's all very confusing and I've tried Googling pretty much everything but keep coming…

I'm looking to relocate to a different country, find a job (possibly teaching english), and spend a year or two there. I'm having trouble deciding where to go. I have a few requirements: Must be a city, must be somewhat tropical, and there must be surfing nearby. I am 24 years old, so I am also looking for somewhere that will have a thriving youth culture.

I have found a few cities that meet these requirements, but again, I'm having trouble narrowing it down. So please share your vast knowledge…

Does anybody have any experience in getting business or work visas for Malaysia? Or any knowledge of visa agencies that can help with this? Or anyone have any tips?

Story is... English woman together with a Chinese man, looking to live in Penang for a year... no need to work really, but maybe looking at doing some teaching or investing or future possibility of starting a small business. But for now, we just want to move to Penang and enjoy life. Although with a Chinese passport, not so easy as…

Hi, just seen an offer on Groupon for a TEFL 100 hour course: http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/london/teflstop/5022144?nlp=&CID=UK_CRM_1_0_0_112&a=9

I just wondered...does anyone know if this is a 'good' TEFL course? I have heard that many aren't!

I don't have a degree - how difficult will it be to get a TEFL job without one?

I am looking for 6 month contracts (October-April) but most contracts seem to be for 12 months. Are 6 month jobs available?

Can two people get jobs at the same place? (My…

I'm in the process of preparing for long term travel (indefinite duration but for several years or longer). One option I am considering is doing a TEFL/CETLA course to enable me to teach. However, I would only want to do this if I had adequate skills to teach people properly (so it would be a course with teaching experience required, etc. - not just on online means to a paper qualification).

I am British, live in UK and speak English. I have a couple of science degrees (from UK…

Is there anywhere that allows you to get a work visa without having to have work already lined up?
My partner is a citizen of a country in South America, and I am an Australian Citizen.
We are trying to figure out where we can go to be together long term rather than a few weeks/months here and there.
Most countries require work visas which is no problem.
BUT you have to have job to get a visa, and you need a visa to get a job.. so its an impossible circle.
Is there anyway around this or a country…

Hello All! (Hmm does one capitalize All?)

Everyone who has written about the CELTA course has said that it's very intensive. Can anyone suggest ways to prepare? Reviewing grammar? Are there any books anyone has found helpful? What about first taking an online course?

Is there a particular school or schools that are the "gold standard"?

Are there grades or pass/fail, or what?

Also does the course/schools require a BA degree? A brainy friend of mine is one semester short of finishing her…
