Anyone have experience or want to chime in on home schooling? My friend has three kids, 4, 7, and 8 and is seriously considering home-schooling. She is a diligent, organized and disciplined person, and would likely be able to plan and execute a proper schedule...my concern would be socialization...
Any thoughts, good or bad?

Hi! I’m a Spanish guy in his mid 30s, and tired of my current corporate job, I’m planning about quitting and going abroad for a couple of years. I’m thinking about spending these years studying Japanese in Tokyo or Chinese in Taipei. I’ve been in both places as a tourist and I like them a lot, but not sure about which one would be better from the point of view of:
1) How easy is for a foreigner to integrate with the local culture and life.
2) Which one of both languages is easier to learn (from…

Hi all,

I'm going to travel to Ecuador and Peru in March for a couple of months with a friend and we're going to take a month of Spanish lessons in Quito, volunteer after classes, and then travel around both countries once we're done. My friend is going home in mid-May, but I would like to extend my trip another 3 months and volunteer/intern at either Yanapuma Foundation (in Ecuador) or help out at the South American Explorers (SAE) clubs in Quito or Lima.

Do any of you have experiences…

If my working holiday visa expires on the 22 Feb what day do I have to leave the country. Some people have been telling me that I have 60 days after it expires to leave but not sure of that. Because you don't get stamped when you exit the country how will they know if you have overstayed the visa.
Thanks

I am going to Ausralia in september, and i am planning to work there with a WHV. I am just wondering how easy it is to get a bank account over there, as i know its not easy to get one in the UK if you are from another country. With this in mind, i was thinking of paying a company and joining one of their programmes where they give a bank account, sort out tax and give you access to jobs whilst there. has anyone else done one of these? are they worth it? or is it just as easy to go it alone and…

Hi!

I am going to stay in Latin America for some time ... as long as I can afford it!
Therefore I am looking for some paid work or some work for free meals and accomodation.

I have been looking up several website but haven't found anything useful yet.

Does anyone know some hostels, diving centers, tour operators etc. who are offering some jobs for travellers?
(I am especially interested in Panama, but I am openminded for all other countries as well!)

Thanks a lot!

I have been traveling for a few months from the U.S. I have used my credit card to withdraw cash from ATMs and have had charges (not the service fees but the entire amount I withdrew) that have not appeared on my statements from several countries, including Ireland, Turkey and Thailand. I have not been able to get any information from these banks or my bank about how long charges may take to appear. Has anyone else had this experience? How long did it take for the charges to go through? Some…

Hi guys

We have just sold everything we have in the uk to travel and work our way around the world. We are currently in Egypt and trying to decide what to do next both travel and work wise. Due to the fact we have no time restraints and want to see the whole world we are finding it difficult to decide where to go and what to do, the world is our oyster so to speak!!

We are willing to follow the work wherever it is in the world at the time. I am a AAT qualified accountant with 8 years…
