Hello. I am going to teach English in Chile with the Ministry of Education from March 22-November 28, 2008 and found out my top three choices the Central Region, La Serena, and Concepcion are closed and full! Yikes! My two choices when they get back to me next week will be the far north & far south. My biggest concern is I don't want to be in a rural area in the middle of no-where, as I would prefer to be in a city for many reasons. A few being...as a teaching assistant I will be placed with a…

I'm trying to find some resources on the internet about flat rental prices in Budapest for someone who doesn't speak Hungarian. They will also be looking at a flat that a Hungarian could afford, rather than the expensive expat all expenses paid type flats.

Ideally I'm looking for sites in English, but I can always provide a translation for Hungarian sites. Unfortunately, I don't live in Budapest and have no experience in finding a flat to rent.

Actually, even if you can tell me how much a flat…

i don't really know where to post this question.

does anyone know if re-entering the USA after traveling overseas will tip off the state employment security office to the fact that i've been gone?

i had a Canadian friend who said this was a problem for her - when trying to re-enter Canada after attending an important family event in the US, she was stopped at the border when they saw she was drawing the Canadian equivalent of UI. apparently, she wasn't supposed to leave Canada at all.

but…

Hi,

I am interested in working for an aid agency, but have no idea where to begin my research. I have an MA in Middle Eastern studies, but really this is not a qualification for what I want to do, which is to help in the places where help is needed most any way I can. Please excuse the vagueness but I have to start somewhere!

Anyone know of any good books/websites, where I could begin my research into this field?

Does anyone have any suggestions or know some good sources of information on how to deal with anger in pre-teens? My sister moved to the USA a few months ago (from NZ) with her 12 and 6 year old and the 12 year old is having a REALLY hard time adjusting. She is very angry with her mother and none of us are sure how the situation can be dealt with.

Just before I start this branch is about living and working abroad and not just travelling so get your facts right BPguru!

Anyway I just thought I would start the old debate about living and working abroad and the best options.

My contribution is working remotely over the Internet and running your own sites. I have been doing this now for 2.5 years and managed to live in many different countries and earn, in most cases, a very good salary for that host country.

For those who don't believe me…

I’m in the process of updating my work-while-traveling handbook, Quit Dreaming and Go! (http://www.quitdreamingandgo.com) to include more references and examples of professions/occupations that are being performed while traveling the world. (We call these people nu nomads.) Are you one? Not sure? Well, do you spend a lot of your work-time telecommuting instead of driving to some sort of office? Has your local coffeehouse become your defacto office? Or, are you already traveling the world while…

I'm really want to get away and see more of the world and live overseas for a while. I have Canadian/EU citizenship, but I'm looking more at Latin America, Asia, the South Pacific or Africa.

I do have a university degree, but my work background over the last 8 years is in the tourism industry, so that's where my experience lies.

Does anyone know what opportunities exist out there? I'd love to work in the eco-tourism field, or in wildlife lodges, or for locally based tour operators? I mean, I…

greetings all,
while i realize moving to a new country is too major of a decision to make soley based on health coverage, as an american struggling to pay for my diabetic supplies, the idea of universal health care is enough to make me consider moving. so naturally i am wondering what the residency requirements / waiting periods for coverage are in various countries, and which countries offer the best care? any information or recommendations of additional resources would be much appreciated!
