We 3 Aussies, parents and 4 year-old are looking to rent a house in Vietnam for up to 2 months starting around May 08. Especially keen on Hue and Hoi An, but will consider elsewhere, and looking for an authentic experience - ie no Western style bungalows full of bored tourists if poss. I have some questions about freelancing in the States. I am a graphic designer from Canada and would like to maybe relocate to the States since my boyfreind lives there (Rhode Island). I am travelling through russia, mongolia and china right now and will be getting to Thailand with my friend at the begining of June.

He will be returning to the UK at the end of June but I kinda like the idea of staying-on in thailand (or possibly any of the surrounding countries like malasia/indonesia/india) to work and live there for up to 6 months or so as thailand and the surrounding areas sound like,from what i've heard, my kinda place.

Bali is a beautiful place on our planet, you can survive pretty well on a very small budget. The Cost of Living here is dramatically lower than in the US, old Europe or even other parts in Asia.

I got my EEA Family Permit for the UK. ( Um married partner of Irish National, I am Australian)

The embassy sent it back with all my documentation, however they have not included any correspodance whatsover.

I arrive in to Luton on April 26. My permit states its vaild from April 1 to Oct 1. Does it commence when I enter the country or have I been short changed a month?

Have any Americans out there done an Oz working holiday visa? It was my (mis)understanding that Australia did not issue them to Americans, but I just learned they do. Any suggestions as to best time of the year to go, job opps, etc? Is it mostly like waitressing jobs and the like (I know fruit picking is supposed to be a popular job for WHV people)?
