Hi all,

I was just wondering if i could get some ideas around teaching english abroad. I am wanting to do a teaching english course in either france or spain next year. I am trying to decide between TEFL course or CELTA. Any recommendations??? I have done some research and i have found alot of people saying to go with the CELTA as it is more widely recognised and mediated by cambridge university - so there is less variation of quality between schools that offer it - is this correct?

I am also…

I was thinking of doing a working holiday in New Zealand early next year, but have heard conflicting things about the job market there. Can anyone tell me, for doing a working holiday are there plenty of jobs available, or is the job market really bad and causing people to run to other countries to find work?

Greetings:

As usual, I will be traveling to Canada this summer. While in Canada, I will need a credit card to rent cars. I can get a Visa credit card issued by Riyadh Bank in Saudi Arabia but I want to limit my liability as much as possible. My question for this Forum is has anyone here rented a car in Canada/the USA/the UK using a Visa credit card issued by Riyadh Bank in Saudi Arabia? If so, what was involved? For the car rental, did your credit card have to have a certain credit limit or is…

Hi

Just wondering if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction to find out whether an Aussie can get NHS or private health insurance in the UK to cover pre-existing medical conditions (in my case Crohns) or if not where I can find info on the approx cost of medications that I would need to take while In the UK.

I'm looking at apply for a Youth Mobility Visa in the next 6months, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one with CD (or another pre-existing condition - I'm sure that there…

Greetings:

I used to have a credit card via an Irish bank but that bank has pulled out of the offshore business. I can get a credit card in Saudi Arabia but I want to limit my liability as much as possible. Please note that if you owe any money here, you don't leave until you pay it (valid or invalid debt, no difference). I have rented cars often in Canada but I never really thought about the hold they put on my credit card. Is it a certain amount on the credit card or something else?

The…

I am an American teacher, so I have the summer off. I would like to teach English for 4-6 weeks during the summer of 2011.

I meet all the usual requirements:
*Native English speaker
*Teaching experience in America (7 years)
*EFL experience in Ecuador (1 year)
*Credentialed to teach English learners

Here's the deal, I bought a house a year ago, and the new expenses have made it almost impossible to save up for any kind of international travel (In the past, I would go on an international adventure…

Yes, Im here again asking more questions but, well, what can I say, Im keen to explore every avenue that may offer a chance of getting the hell away from where I am now!

So, does anyone know of any charitable organisations, anywhere in the world but most desirably in eastern Europe, which offer paid positions?

Thankyou, as always, for any advice or suggestions.

Jay

As stated in my previous post, I have worked with children who have ADHD for the last ten years and, I have always wondered what provision is available in other countries around the world?
In England, children with behaviour problems are required to attend Pupil Referral Units where they work with a range of staff from specialist teachers, learning mentors (as I am) and support workers as well as one to one support workers. This is after their place within a mainstream school has been suspended…

I discovered not so long ago that the government in Georgia were having a recruitment drive directed at teaching. Apparently the application closing date was back in august and so, I may have missed this opportunity for now. However, I would still love to hear from anyone who did make it past the application stage and is now involved in teaching, anywhere in Georgia. Of course, if anyone knows anything, generally, about teaching in Georgia and the opportunities out there, I would greatly…

I'm just embarking on the process of researching possible locations and programs so that I can teach abroad beginning in 2011.

That said, I'm totally lost. Before I started looking into it more seriously, I envisioned teaching in Spain or France but I've been disabused of that notion pretty quickly because of the high demand to work in those countries- not to mention, it's apparently more difficult to work out a visa situation there.

I'm quickly warming up to sites in Eastern Europe, like…
